Carbon Lady Dinos softball coach Kirt Nunley joined KOAL's Drive Time Sports Wednesday afternoon to preview the upcoming 3A State Tournament, which will resume Thursday in Spanish Fork. After defeating the Manti Templars last week, the No.5 seeded Lady Dinos will face No. 4 Morgan Thursday in Spanish Fork at 10:00 a.m.
Teams of 13-year-olds from Arizona, California, Hawaii, Nevada, and Utah will descend upon Carbon County in late July for the opportunity to represent the Pacific Southwest Region at the World Series held in New York in mid-August. One local team, the Battle 13U squad, will be coached by Darek Martinez, Rob Smith, Justin Powell, and Timmy Urbanik and represent Carbon County.
