Emery High School senior, Creek Sharp, concluded his high school athletics career with a state championship in the 100 meters this past Saturday at BYU. A standout, multi-sport athlete, Sharp joined Jordan Buscarini on Wednesday afternoon for an interview on KOAL's Drive Time Sports. The Emery Spartans golf team will continue the season Thursday morning as their home meet shifts from Millsite to Green River. Wednesday on KOAL's Drive Time Sports, head coach Kasey Edgehouse joined the show to talk about how his team has performed and Thursday's meet.
Teams of 13-year-olds from Arizona, California, Hawaii, Nevada, and Utah will descend upon Carbon County in late July for the opportunity to represent the Pacific Southwest Region at the World Series held in New York in mid-August. One local team, the Battle 13U squad, will be coached by Darek Martinez, Rob Smith, Justin Powell, and Timmy Urbanik and represent Carbon County.
Ahead of the upcoming tournament, three members of the Battle team joined KOAL's Drive Time Sports. Rigdon Rhoten, Austin Leonard and Jack Madrid all talked about a recent tournament, this year's team and the upcoming Pacific Southwest Regional.
