The Emery Lady Spartans soccer squad rallied past the North Sanpete Hawks with a 3-2 win in overtime Tuesday afternoon in Mount Pleasant.

Tied 1-1 at the end of the first half and again 2-2 at the end of regulation, the Lady Spartans managed to find the back of the net in overtime. The win improves Emery to 4-1 in region play, while the loss sends North Sanpete to 0-5.

Alexis Winter scored her 16th goal of the season to help Emery to the region win. Morgan Hurdsman and Shelbee Murdoch also scored once.

Emmalene Palmer and Savannah Ence each scored once for the Hawks in the loss. North Sanpete also suffered a 5-2 loss to Emery in the first meeting of the season back on Aug. 28.

With only four regular season games remaining on the schedule the Lady Spartans remain in second place in the division, trailing Manti by one game overall. Emery will return to the field Thursday for a road tilt with the Grand Red Devils.
