The Lady Spartans hosted the Millard Eagles (12-0 overall, 4-0 in region and #2 RPI in 2A) on Tuesday night falling in five sets 3-2.

Emery has lost their last seven matches and with the exception of the match against Millard , they were all versus region competition. They only have four regular games left against conference opponents. They will head to Richfield next weekend for a tournament at the Sevier Valley Center.

Their remaining region meetings with Carbon, San Juan, Richfield and South Sevier will be a measuring stick as to how far they will be able to go when playoff time rolls around on October 26. It won’t be an easy task as all of the teams left on their schedule are rated in the top 10 of the 3A state rankings. Emery (5-11, 0-6 and #12 RPI) could make a move in the final standings by beating anyone of those teams.

First up is a rematch with Carbon (8-7, 1-5 and #8 RPI) in Price on Thursday night. In their first meeting Carbon was victorious 3-1 at the Spartan Center in mid-Spetember.

The match Thursday will be held at Carbon High and is scheduled to begin at 6:30.
