The Emery Lady Spartans extended their season and advanced in the consolation bracket as they defeated the South Sevier Rams 53-41 Friday morning at the Sevier Valley Center in Richfield.

After suffering a 53-45 loss to the Delta Rabbits in the quarterfinals Thursday, Emery bounced back with an impressive victory on Friday, ending South Sevier's season. Trailing by three at the end of the opening quarter, Emery outscored South Sevier 18-6 in the second and 17-7 in the third to grab the lopsided win.

Freshman Megan Jensen once again led the way for the Lady Spartans coming off of the bench to score 14 points and grab nine rebounds. Lainee Jensen finished with seven and three others scored six as 10 different players scored at least one-point.

South Sevier struggled with Emery's full court press turning the ball over 21 times. Emery's defense tallied 11 steals and four blocks, while holding the Rams to just six points in the second quarter and seven in the third.

Brielle Chisholm was the only South Sevier player to reach double-figures, scoring 19 points off of 13 shots. McKenzie Jenson chipped in with eight points and Bailey Palmer finished with six.

Friday's win extends Emery's season into the final day of competition where they will meet Millard for fifth place. The season finale is scheduled for a 10:00 am tip-off, live coverage will begin at 9:45 on KOAL 103.9 FM and 750 AM.
