The Carbon Dinos soccer squad started the brand new season off on the right foot as they defeated the Tooele Buffaloes 2-1 at home Tuesday afternoon.

Taylor Griffeth scored two goals, one in each half, to lead the Dinos past the Buffaloes. Tooele's Victor Camargo notched one goal in the first half, leaving the scored tied at the end of the first. Carbon's defense managed to keep the opposition off of the board in the final half to secure the win.

With the season opener now in the books the Dinos will continue the season Wednesday as they play host to South Summit. Friday Carbon will travel for their first road game as they take on the Union Cougars in Roosevelt.

Sharing Region 12 with Canyon View, Juab, North Sanpete and Richfield, Carbon will open league play on Wednesday, March 23 against the Juab Wasps.
