The Carbon Lady Dinos earned their second consecutive victory as they defeated Cottonwood on the road in non-league play 6-4 Friday afternoon.

McKenna Sorenson led the way for Carbon registering the win on the mound, and knocking a double to help boost the offense. Friday’s win was the second straight after the team suffered through a four game losing skid throughout the final two weeks of March.

Kelsey Sorenson dominated from the batters box lacing three doubles. Kinley Nelson also helped the offense with two doubles in the win.

Now 9-5 overall on the season and 1-1 in Region 12 play, the Lady Dinos will have an opportunity to sweep the Richfield Wildcats in the season series when they return to the field on Tuesday. Carbon won the first meeting back on April 5 as they blanked the Wildcats 4-0 on the road.

Tuesday’s game is scheduled to begin at 3:30 pm and will be the first of two games this week. Friday the Lady Dinos will take the field against the Juab Wasps at home.
