The swearing in ceremony in East Carbon turned out to be quite eventful on Tuesday afternoon. The ceremony was held to swear in the newly elected mayor, Harry Goslin Jr and two city council members, Larry Wood and Donald McCarthy.

Goslin took the Oath of Office in front of members of the community and immediately followed by reading a statement announcing his resignation. In his statement he stated that he would not be able to fulfill his duties as mayor due to personal issues that may require him to move out of the area. During the election he brought in a significant number of votes to beat out the current Mayor Doug Parsons, who was seeking re-election.

There is a possibility that a Public Notice will be put out for individuals interested in the position to apply. The city is looking into further details on the process for the resignation.

Castle Country Radio will share further information as it becomes available.
