The Carbon Lady Dinos completed the season series sweep of the Emery Lady Spartans with a 12-2 win Thursday night under the lights at the Carbon County Fairgrounds.

Carbon accumulated 17 hits and scored in each of the five innings, which led to a mercy-rule victory. Defensively the Lady Dinos were without a blemish playing error free softball, while keeping Emery off of the board for the first three innings.

Dekota Kraushaar knocked a home run and finished 2-3 to lead Carbon with three RBIs. Kelsey Sorenson ended 3-4 and scored two runs, while Clarissa Noyes connected on two singles and brought in two runs.

Kraushaar logged the win on the mound after allowing just six hits and one earned run in four innings. Brooke Moosman worked one inning in relief to close out the final three outs for the Lady Dinos.

Carlie Robinson recorded Emery’s lone RBI with a double in a 1-2 effort at the plate. Six other Lady Spartans notched one hit a piece.

Thursday’s meeting was the second and final of the year between the two teams in the regular season. Carbon also won the first, 16-9, back on March 7 in the season opener.
