Despite a team-low 75 from Oakley Toomer, the Emery Spartans finished sixth overall at the fourth Region 15 meet of the season Thursday afternoon at the Hideout Golf Course in Monticello.

The Spartans ended with a team score of 363, 20 strokes better than last place South Sevier. The Grand Red Devils topped Richfield by one stroke for first with a 341. North Sanpete, Manti and San Juan rounded out the top five.

Taylor Lindsey logged the second score of the afternoon for Emery after firing a 92. Shaidyn Killpack was third with a 96 and Devan Guymon’s 100 marked the fourth score.

Emery remains in fifth place following Thursday’s meet, 10-strokes behind fourth place North Sanpete. Richfield remains at the top of the standings, followed by Grand and Manti.

The Spartans will continue the golf season on Wednesday, Aug. 29 with a trip to Mount Pleasant. Only three meets remain before the region finale on Sept. 17.
