Max K. Funk, age 82, passed away peacefully at home, Wednesday, February 27, 2019.

Max was born June 14, 1936 in Ferron, Utah to Kenneth Henrie and Hilda E. Olsen. Max married the love of his life, Linda on September 10, 1958 in Ely, Nevada. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti Temple on April 22, 1961. What a blessing it is to know that they are together again in a beautiful reunion.

Dad was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. Family was very important to him and it showed throughout his entire life. Our camping, fishing and hunting trips on Ferron Mountain will always be lasting memories that we will never forget.

Grandpa never missed an opportunity to watch his grandchildren in the activities they loved from dance recitals and athletic events to showing pigs in the county fair.

He loved coaching his boys in little league and Babe Ruth baseball. He also enjoyed running the chains at the Carbon Dino football games.

As a worthy priesthood holder he was the example we looked to in living the gospel. He loved his Heavenly Father and served Him diligently by serving others. Dad served every week at the Bishop’s Storehouse, which he loved. We knew this because when he planned visits to come spend time at our homes it always revolved around his work schedule. You would also find him out and about shoveling snow for neighbors and visiting ward members.

Survived by his son, David (Sandra) Funk Taylorsville, UT; daughters, Leslie (Kirk) Childs, St. George, UT; Cherie (Max) Pierce, Cornish, UT; 8 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren; sisters, Jean (Gary) Berensen, Price, UT; Darlene Burnhope, Bothwell, UT.

Max was preceded in death by his parents, wife; sons Gary Alan and Michael Scott Funk; brother Larry Funk.
