Let the school districts in Carbon and Emery help serve your child a healthy and nutritious meal over the summer break. The Summer Lunch Programs in Carbon will start on June 3 till August 9 and Emery will begin on June 5 ending on July 21. Our region is considered an economic disadvantage area so there are several sites available to visit in both districts.

Carbon School District has several sites to accommodate children and families. The sites are Bruin Point, Castle Heights, Creekview, Sally Mauro Elementary and Wellington City Park. The cost is free for children under 18 years of age and adults may eat breakfast for $2.50 or lunch for $4.00. The following schedule are the serving times for each site/school:

Bruin Point Elementary
Monday through Thursday
Breakfast 8:30 am to 9:00 am
Lunch 11:00 am to 12:00 pm

Creekview and Sally Mauro Elementary
Monday through Thursday
Lunch 11:00 am to 12:00 pm

Castle Heights Elementary
Monday through Friday
Breakfast 8:30 am to 9:00 am
Lunch 11:30 pm to 12:30 pm

Wellington City Park

Lunch 11:00 am to 12:00 pm

The Emery School District lunch program will run till July 21 and will serve lunch weekdays from 12:00 am to 1:00 pm at Castle Dale Elementary, Cleveland Elementary, Cottonwood Elementary in Orangeville, Ferron Elementary and Huntington Elementary. Any children under the age of 18 years of age will eat free and adults may eat for $4.50.

As per federal guidelines meals are not “grab-n-go” they must be eaten where served on site. Anyone and everyone ages 18 and under can eat for free and guests do not have to be from our county to benefit from this program. Children and families are encouraged to arrive early to the sites due to the fact that meals are served for a set amount of time.

Funding for the program is based on how many meals are served so it’s important for families to take advantage of the free summer lunch program. The program coordinators want to ensure that no child goes hungry this summer.
