The Lost and Found Ministries is Castle Country Radio Stations January charity of the month. This non-profit organization was found and formed in 2017 by David Safford who saw a growing population of individuals in our community suffering from addiction and he knew he had to do something to help those community members.

“We minister to the lost and the broken, people who struggle with addiction, hurts, habits, hang-ups. We’ve had a lot of success since we started. We’ve sent 67 people to treatment. These treatment programs they’re faith-based, they have a very high success rate because they focus on the spiritual battle rather than the chemical,” explained Safford. The Lost and Found Ministries Thrift store was started so that they could gather donations of any kind and sell those items back to the community to make a profit to help individuals seeking rehabilitation from drugs and/or alcohol. The store’s location is 275 North Main Street in Helper, open Tuesday through Saturday from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm and open to the public.

Not only does the building house the thrift store but it also is the location of support groups for those in recovery. “We also have groups there at the store, upstairs of the store. The people who are coming to our groups continuously is about 75 percent success rate,” said Safford. The support groups are held every Friday evenings from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm and open to anyone in recovery.

The Lost and Found Ministries are always seeking donations for the Thrift Store and those items may be dropped off anytime at the store’s location. Any individuals that wish to make a monetary donation can do so by visiting the store or by submitting payment to their account at Mountain America Credit Union.
