Tuesday’s Drive Time Sports featured Brad Balukjian, author of the new book “The Wax Pack”, a book inspired by an unopened pack of 86′ Topps baseball cards. Also, Steve Bortstein talks best and worst baseball movies.
*Part baseball nostalgia, part road trip travelogue, and all heart, “THE WAX PACK: On the Open Road in Search of Baseball’s Afterlife” follows Balukjian as he tracks down players from a single pack of baseball cards from 1986 that had remained sealed for almost thirty years. It is an amazing read and a reminder that greatness is not found in the stats on the backs of baseball cards but in the personal stories of the men on the front of them.
*Bored at home? Do you have the itch for baseball? Steve Bortstein and Jordan Buscarini have a conversation about which baseball movies you should watch and avoid.
