The Miss Carbon County Organization would like to invite the community out to their annual Crowns & Cars Car Wash Fundraiser on July 17. Castle Country Radio was able to sit down with Miss Carbon County, Lily Vigil and Miss Carbon County’s Outstanding Teen, Skylynn Basso to talk about the event and about both of them serving for another year.

“So we have our Miss Carbon County Car Wash and it will be July 17 at 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Market Express Chevron and we’re going to be raising funds for our next royalty scholarships,” said Basso. This event takes place each year to help generate funds for their scholarship program. Tickets are $10.00 and are available by contacting a member of the royalty or can be purchased at the event.

The COVID-19 pandemic put a glitch in this year’s aspiration to compete at a state level but this has given the girls an opportunity to continue their position for another year and serve the community. “I am super happy to be able to serve again, me and Sky really worked for it and we got what we wanted because that is what we are doing this for is the service, the main point of this whole thing is to be able to serve. So when we found out that we the opportunity to serve longer, especially since our year got cut in half with the virus,” said Vigil. Both girls along with their royalty have been very busy this summer with the various community service projects that they have been lending a helping hand with.
