Our loving and kind mother, grandmother, sister and friend, Norma D Fredrickson, age 93, passed away August 9, 2020 in Price, Utah. Norma was born February 27, 1927 in Sterling, Utah as the oldest child of Forrest and Geniel Peacock. Norma was raised in Sterling and graduated from Manti High School in 1946. She married Christian Lamar Fredrickson on August 27, 1946 in Sterling. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple.

Her summer days were spent outside humming while tending to her beautiful flowers and vegetable garden. Much of her time consisted of canning, sharing recipes and clipping coupons to send home with the next visitor or whoever would take them. Grandma always had an “all day sucker” or a “dish of ice-cream” to give. You never left empty handed from Grandma’s house!

Some of her favorite things were the outings and regular card games with their special group of friends, homemade ice-cream in the mountains, sitting in the porch swing on the back patio, feeding her birds (especially the hummingbirds), and a good hallmark show. She couldn’t have enough family pictures and she would let you know when it was time for a new one. Norma loved her “Momma and Daddy” and brothers and sisters dearly. She loved to share memories of her wonderful childhood and the “good ol’ days”.  Anyone who knows her has probably enjoyed an evening in the backyard listening to those stories. Family was everything to her and she wanted to be where they were, and doing what they were doing.

Even in the difficult aging years, physical discomforts, and through the loneliness of missing LaMar, she never complained, always saying, “I’m just fine!”.

She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she served in many capacities; including three temple missions with her husband in the Manti, Utah; Atlanta, Georgia; and Nauvoo, Illinois temples. Norma loved the temple. She loved her Savior Jesus Christ and she took every opportunity to share that testimony and love with her family.

Norma is survived by her children: Kathy Fredrickson of Kalispell, MT and Glen (Debbie) Fredrickson of Price; daughter-in-law Kathy (John) Gledhill of Nephi; grandson Brian (Melodie) Fredrickson of Gunnison; siblings, Milton (Lola) Denison of Sandy, Calvin (Alys) Denison of Perry, Darlene (Arlo) Larsen of Cedar City; 7 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her spouse; parents; son, Ross Lynn Fredrickson; two grandchildren, Gregory Fredrickson and Roslyn Fredrickson; sister, Nedra Stewart and her husband, Dr. LaMar (Joe) H. Stewart; and in-laws Fred and Fannie Fredrickson.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at Heirloom Inn for their excellent care and friendship.
