
The Carbon Lady Dinos tennis team swept the Gunnison Bulldogs Thursday afternoon winning all points en route to a 5-0 win on the road.
Carbon’s Lindsey Snow earned the first point of the match as she defeated Sariah Leatherwood in straight sets 6-4, 6-2. Nicole Swasey followed suit by topping Emma Wilden 6-1, 6-0 and Ana Maria Olivas swept Valerie Jackson 6-0, 6-3 to close out a dominating performance.
The doubles competition played out in similar fashion as Carbon closed out the meet unscathed.
Lizzy Blackburn and Alyssa Ellis defeated Jane Squire and Anya Lyman 6-2, 6-1. Rhiannon Haslam and Hannah Ludington topped Rayle Owens and Emily Johnson 6-0, 6-0.
Thursday’s road competition is the last of the month of August, which resulted in plenty of success for Carbon. The team will now prepare for the final month of region play before returning to the court on Wednesday, Sept. 2 on the road against Delta.
The next home meet for Carbon will take place the following day on Sept. 3 against Richfield at 3:30 p.m..
