John Phillip Fister, age 77, passed away peacefully at home on March 13, 2020.
John was born on March 16, 1942, to Phillip and Kerry Nick Fister in Price, Utah.
John was a USA Navy veteran and served in the Cuban Missile Crisis. After his service in the Navy, he moved to California, where he met and married the love of his life, Deborah “Dee Dee” Fister. He worked as a butcher for 30-plus years and belonged to the California Butchers’ Union. He, Dee Dee and Billy moved to Price in 2003, where they built a good life, enjoyed retirement and got great joy out of helping people. John enjoyed hunting, camping and most of all fishing.
Every morning he would go to Smith’s to have coffee and a donut with friends. They then would venture off to the DI or one of the local pawn shops to find those hidden deals that one just couldn’t pass up.
John is survived by his sister, Rose Marie (Roy) Hofer; brother, Nick (Alma) Fister;
children, William Fred (Heather) Lara, Guy (Tammy) Lara, Tammy Cipponeri, Vito (Torie) Cipponeri, and Billy Cipponeri; grandchildren, Chad and Madison Lara, Guy Jr. and Leann Lara, Ashly Cipponeri, Haley and Kylie Branaugh, Tyler Cipponeri; many nieces, nephews and Amanda Perry.
John was preceded in death by his loving wife of over 35 years, Deborah Fister; parents, Phillip and Kerry Fister; and many aunts and uncles.
