The Carbon Lady Dinos opened Region 12 play with a dominating performance as they topped the South Sevier Rams 8-0 Tuesday afternoon in Price.
Six first half goals was more than enough for the Lady Dinos to earn their second straight victory of the season. The complete first half performance carried over into the second as Carbon added two more goals, while keeping the Rams off of the scoreboard.
Ryan Brady found the back of the net twice, running her season total to nine goals. The contest also marked her third multi-goal game in just the sixth contest of 2020.
Kinley Cowdell also scored two goals, her firsts of the season. Amaiah Timothy, Beverly Lancaster, Jezmin Presset and Shalyce Rahaula all scored once.
Emma Flemmet took care of business as goalie for the Lady Dinos, recording her second shutout. The first came back on August 6 against the Union Cougars.
Now 4-2 on the season and 1-0 in league play, Carbon will look to continue their winning ways when they return to the field on Thursday against San Juan. The Broncos also opened division play on Tuesday, suffering a 4-0 loss to Richfield.
Thursday’s game will take place at Carbon High School, marking the second straight home game. The Lady Dinos will play both division games next on the road.
