The Carbon Lady Dinos suffered a heartbreaking 2-1 loss in overtime to the Richfield Wildcats Tuesday afternoon on the road.

Entering the game with identical 2-0 Region 12 records, the two teams battled back and forth and remained tied for the most of the game. After a scoreless second half, the game advanced into overtime where Richfield eventually claimed the victory.

Ryan Brady scored the lone goal of the match for Carbon, giving her 10 on the season. Brady has now scored in seven of the team’s eight games so far.

Tuesday’s loss dips Carbon to 2-1 in division play and 5-3 overall. Heading into the road tilt, Carbon held the No. 5 ranking in the UHSAA RPI. Following the loss the Lady Dinos are now No. 7, while Richfield has now climbed to No. 5.

The two teams will meet for the final time in the regular season on Thursday, Sept. 24 at Carbon High School.

Carbon will have an opportunity to get back on the winning side of the scoreboard when they return to the field on Thursday for a meeting with the Grand Red Devils in Moab.
