The Emery Lady Spartans encountered bad luck as they suffered a straight set loss to the Millard Eagles in a highly competitive non-region contest Tuesday night on the road.

While the match lasted just three sets, the Lady Spartans could have very easily been on the winning side of the sweep as Millard took each game 25-23.

Despite the loss senior Bralin Wilde led the Lady Spartans with a team-best 12 kills. Madisyn Childs ended with eight kills and Hallie Winn finished with seven.

Winn’s impact was felt all over the court as she posted a team-high 16 assists. Baylee Jacobson was helped push the ball with 12 assists.

Tuesday’s loss dips Emery to 5-5 overall on the season, but does not affect their Region 12 record, which currently sits at 1-2.

Emery will now take the remainder of the week off before returning to the court on Tuesday against Richfield on the road.
