Despite winning two of the three singles matches, the Carbon Lady Dinos suffered a slim 3-2 loss to the South Sevier Rams Tuesday afternoon at home.

Continuing a trend of standout play, Lindsey Snow defeated South Sevier’s Janessa Gayler in straight sets 6-1 and 6-2. The other win came from Nicole Swasey who outlasted Hannah Gaye with a win in three sets 5-7, 6-4, 6-4.

Despite a competitive match Lizzy Blackburn suffered a straight sets loss to Gabby Carter, falling in the first game 7-5 and the second 6-2.

While Carbon found success in the singles competitions, the team suffered two losses in doubles play.

In doubles Carbon’s Alex Cartwright and Kaydance Scovill lost to Aubrey Robinson and Morgan Blackburn 6-2, 6-1. Ana Maria Olivas and Alyssa Ellis fell to Presley Chappell and Nelea Troseth in three sets 6-3, 4-6, 3-6.

Carbon will look to get back on track Thursday when they play host to the Emery Lady Spartans in the lone meeting of the season. Start time for the competition is set for 3:30 p.m..
