A team score of 333 placed the Carbon Dinos third overall in Thursday’s Region 12 meet at the Millsite Golf Course in Ferron.

Richfield extended their lead at the top of the team standings as they shot an outstanding 308 at the difficult course. Grand topped Carbon for second with a final score of 320. Emery ended in fourth, while South Sevier and San Juan rounded out the field of six.

Sophomore Bode Salas posted the low score for Carbon as he shot a 77, placing him sixth individually. Brandon Scoville and Daron Garner each shot an 83 and Kyler Clark’s 90 was the fourth score for the Dinos.

Carbon has now slipped 62-strokes behind Richfield for the top spot in the region, but continues to hold a lengthy 32 shot lead over Grand for second.

Thursday’s meet was the final competition at a Region 12 school’s home course. With the state championship looming on Oct. 7, the teams will face each other one more time on Monday at Round Valley in Morgan.

Round Valley will also be the site of this year’s state championship, giving each competitor one more opportunity to play the course before the season finale.
