The Emery tennis squad traveled to Richfield on Friday for the Region 12 tournament. The 3A State Championship Tournament will take place this weekend at Liberty park in Salt Lake City and both Doubles teams for the Spartans will be taking part.

1st Doubles team mates Shaylee Grange and Haley Guymon finished in second place, defeating Gunnison (6-0, 6-1) and South Sevier (6-2, 6-3). They would fall in the Championship round to Richfield to finish in second place.

The 2nd Doubles team of Megan Hess and Aspen Taylor would qualify for state as well defeating San Juan (2-6, 6-0 and 6-3) and falling to Richfield (6-7, 6-3 and 4-6) In the final round of play they would fall to Carbon (4-6,4-6) landing them in fourth place.

For the singles players Morgan Hughes finished with a a 1-2 record putting her in sixth place. Second single player Carlie Bennett went 0-2 landing her in seventh place. Third singles player Paige Cox went 1-2 putting her in sixth.

The 3A State Tennis Championships will be decided this Friday and Saturday October 1st and 2nd in Salt Lake City.
