The Spartans started the season back on August 25th and worked their way through this season that was full of ups and downs. One positive came in the fact that both of the Emery Spartan doubles squads qualified to play in the 3A State Championship Tournament at Liberty Park in Salt Lake City this past weekend.

The doubles team of Haley Guymon and Shaylee Grange won their first round match-up with Jamie Walker and Sadie Church from North Sanpete, 6-1, 6-7 and 6-2. In round number two they lost in straight sets to Madeline Keil and Alivia Boe from Rowland Hall 6-4 and 6-2.

Megan Hess and Aspen Taylor dropped their opening round match to Rowland Hall’s Madeline Frazier and Kate Altman, 6-2 and 6-4.

Emery would finish the day in 10th place out of 22 teams that participated.
