Laurie “Radar” Markham, age 65, passed away unexpectedly at her home in Green River, Utah on October 3, 2020.

She was born May 6, 1955 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Stephen and Charlotte Mueller Markham.

Although her legal name was Laurie, everyone knew her as Radar. She gained the nickname during the many years she worked at Ray’s Tavern. Radar was an animal person who loved birds, dogs, cats, ducks, among many others. You name it, she probably had it. Radar was often the one that was called any time an animal needed a home, whether it was temporary or permanent.

Although she didn’t always show it, Radar had one of the biggest hearts and would do whatever she could to help someone in need. Radar was a mother to many, and the neighborhood children shared fond memories of sleepovers, popcorn, and movie nights.

Other friends shared their love for her sense of humor; she loved to laugh. Along with all the burgers and beers served at Ray’s, she served up a lot of laughs. Radar was a straightforward lady. If she had something to say, you would hear it, whether you wanted to or not. She will be greatly missed.

Radar is preceded in death by her father, Stephen; mother, Charlotte; brother, Gary Markham, and brother, Stevie Markham.

She is survived by her sister, Colleen Beach, Green River, Utah; brother, Lee Markham, Salt Lake City; nephew, Jay (Lesa) Madsen; niece, Stephanie (Earl) Hales; six great-nieces and nephews and eight great-great-nieces and nephews.

A wake will be held in her honor at a later date. The family appreciates the outpouring of love and memories they have received. Arrangements entrusted to Mitchell Funeral Home of Price where friends are always welcome to share memories online at www.mitchellfuneralhome.net.
