The Carbon Dino soccer squad started their playoff run at home on Wednesday night against the North Sanpete Hawks coming away the victor 1-0.

The lone goal in this contest came off the foot of Molly Banks with the assist from Beverly Lancaster.

Emma Flemett registered her sixth shutout of the season on 10 saves.

The win moves Carbon into the quarterfinals bringing a match-up against Morgan, the No.2 team in the RPI. Morgan defeated Union in their opening round match 7-0. Carbon has not faced Morgan this season however, they did defeat Union on August 6 in the first match of the season. Morgan made it all the way to the semi-final round last season falling to Manti.

The contest will take place on Saturday the 17th in Morgan, with the winner punching their ticket to the semi-finals on October 21st at Juan Diego High School. Game time is set for 1 p.m.
