
Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great-grandfather and brother, Charles William Durham, 89, passed away in the early morning hours of November 4, 2020 at his home in Elmo, Utah.
He was born August 7, 1931 in Dolores, Colorado to Homer and Violet Juanita Denney Durham. On November 28, 1952, he married Joan Relda Guthrie in Creek County, Oklahoma.
Bill was a former resident of Moab where he was employed at Atlas Mineral for ten years. After leaving the area the family moved to Elmo on April 10, 1967 where he began working in the coal mine and farming. Bill loved mining and in 1994 he retired from Plateau Coal Mine. He spent the remainder of his retirement traveling, hunting, fishing, riding horses, and enjoying every moment with his family. Bill was very patriotic and he honorably served in the US Army during Korea.
He is survived by his loving wife, Joan Durham, Elmo; daughters, Linda (Andy) Peterson, Elmo, Nita (Robert) Regruto, Helper, Barbara (Steven) Nostrom, Elko, NV; sisters, Joyce Ostler, Sandy, UT, Betty (Lynn) Johnson, Moab; his special great-granddaughter and caregiver, Desteney Torres; his nine wonderful grandchildren, thirty great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by parents, infant son, Bobby; son, Billy Durham, daughter, Jackie Lynn Spigarelli; son-in-law, Gene Spigarelli; granddaughter, Carolyn Joanna O’Hearon; sisters, Catherine “Mutt” May, Homer Lane “Sis” (Charlie) Shaw, Doris (Dave) Brookshier, Bobby Gene (Will) Brookshier; and a brother-in-law, Lee Ostler.
Funeral service, Monday, November 9, 2020, 10:00 a.m., at Mitchell Funeral Home (233 East Main Street) in Price. Family will receive friends at Mitchell Funeral Home Sunday from 3:00-5:00 p.m. and Monday one hour prior to service. Burial will be at 2:00 p.m. in Moab at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
