The Emery Spartans traveled to Mount Pleasant to take on the North Sanpete Hawks. The Spartans have had a rough start to the season sitting at 2-3 and things didn’t get much easier on Saturday night. Emery got off to a slow start and couldn’t recover losing 81-58.

North Sanpete jumped out to an early 26-11 lead in the first quarter. The Spartans would play pretty much even the rest of the game, But down the stretch the Hawks would play their game and send the Spartans home with the 23 point loss.

For the Spartans senior Beau Cook dropped in 13 points while grabbing seven rebounds. Junior Jace Mangum and senior Luke Stilson both added eight points while Stilson grabbed five rebounds. Senior Riggs Griffin added seven while senior Jaxton Madsen went for six points while dishing out six assists.

Senior Dallon Steadman went for 28 points for the Hawks. Junior Tyrel Morley added 11 and Senior Landon Milne scored nine in the win.

The Spartans now will head into the Christmas Break and will head back out on the road on December 30th as they travel to Manti. On January 8th they will welcome the Richfield Wildcats to the Spartan Center as they get back to work in 2021.
