The Emery Lady Spartans were on the road on Friday night to Salem Hills to take on the Sky Hawks. Salem Hills plays in the 5A classification and sits at 3-4 in their first seven. The Spartans put the clamps on defensively allowing single digit scoring in all four quarters and taking the 40-25 victory.

The Spartans sit at 3-2 currently and are about to head into Christmas Break. They came out strong in the first half going up by a score of 21-13, and kept their foot on the gas finishing off The Sky Hawks outscoring them 19-12 in the second half of the contest.

Daicee Ungerman led the way for the Spartans scoring 10 and pulling down three rebounds. Junior Addie Lester dropped in eight while grabbing two rebounds while dishing out two assists and four steals. Junior Baylee Jacobson scored eight points and five rebounds.

For Salem Hills Emma Willis had 12 points in the loss while coming down with 12 rebounds. Junior Macklyn Mortensen had six with five rebounds and Senior Kira Muir added four with six rebounds.

The Lady Spartans will be on the road on Tuesday the 22nd, taking on Pineview. Their first two games after the break are road games as well against Richfield and Carbon and will be home again on January 19th.
