The Pinnacle Panther ladies basketball team traveled to Wendover on Thursday to take on the Wildcats. From beginning to end Wendover was dominant never letting up and claimed a 73-17 victory over the Panthers.

From early on the Panthers were in an uphill battle, scoring just five points in the first quarter and four in the second allowing the Wildcats to take a 44-9 halftime lead. In the second half they managed just eight points  and Wendover kept their foot down and continued the scoring barrage taking the victory.

Leslie Luna scored 26 for the Wildcats leading all scorers. Gabby DelGadillo added 13 and Vernice Garcia chipped in with 10. Wendover sits at 5-1 on the season and are currently ranked No. 4 in the RPI rankings compiled by the Utah High School Activities Association.

For the Panthers three players Kemery Stuckenschneider, Lizvet Pinal and Samantha Kessler all had four points. Alana Lunelli and Jeanae Hunter each scored two and Azure Jewkes added one. The loss snapped a three game winning streak that started back on January 5th with a 40-23 win over Utah Military Academy. The Panthers are 4-7 on the season and sit at No. 12 in the RPI.

Up next for Pinnacle is a date on Tuesday night with the rival Green River Pirates.  The Pirates have played well of late, winning six of their last seven games and collecting an 8-5 record and a No. 6 RPI rank. Last season season Green River swept the Panthers in both meetings.
