William (Bill) H. Nichols, age 85, passed away on Sunday, February 21, 2021 at Castleview Hospital in Price, Utah.

He was born June 28, 1935 in Martin, Utah to the late Harry and Virginia Johnson Nichols. He grew up in the family home in Spring Glen, Utah where he was the third of five children. Bill was always the “rock” and our family’s “go-to person.”

Bill joined the Army Reserves in 1962 and was honorably discharged in 1963. He moved to Bountiful where he worked as a butcher for Albertson’s. He then moved back to the Price area to take care of his ailing mother and father while being employed at Smith’s. His final job was with Utah Power & Light Company as a painter, retiring in 2000.

While back home caring for his mom, he met Sandra Anderson and they were married on June 25, 1982.  Bill took on the role of Dad/Pa to three teenage daughters, Shelly Denice (Larry) McKinnon, Sherry Diane Malone and Sheila Dawn (Eric) Manzanares. Not having any children of his own, Bill should’ve ran like hell, but he stuck around and we couldn’t have been happier nor better for it. He loved his girls and they in turn loved him unconditionally. He shared his knowledge and wisdom with them. Mom and Pa purchased a home in Price to fit their new family and eventually moved to their home in Carbonville. Family meant everything to him and   he had a special place in his heart for his granddaughter Sawsha, whom he raised as his own.

Pa loved to dance the jitterbug and polka. He coached his daughter’s softball team, loved taking his girls fishing and camping and teaching them how to fly fish.  Bill loved the St. Louis Cardinals and took great pride in his beautiful yard.

Bill is survived by his wife of 38 years, Sandra; three daughters; eight grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; brother, Fred Nichols; and a sister, Connie Cutler.

Preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Robert (Bob) and Betty Ori Nichols, Corky and Beulah Faye Wilcoxson Nichols; brother-in-law, Paul Cutler; and a sister-in-law, Geraldine Shaw Nichols.
