Heaven just got a little brighter and the world a little dimmer with the passing of our husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Thomas Alan Richard who passed away suddenly on March 5, 2021.

Tom was born April 22, 1943 in Ottawa, Illinois to Edgar Frederick and Ruth Farley Richard.  He graduated from Ottawa Township High School, attended Purdue University, and through the IBEW International became a journeyman electrician.

He married his best friend, Juanita Chapman, on May 4, 1975 in Ottawa, Illinois.

He loved his job working for Devoge Electric and all the men he had the privilege of working with. He was a member of IBEW Local #354, Joppa Lodge #26, York Rite, Scottish Rite and Shriners.

Tom loved riding his motorcycles, tinkering around the house and yard and hanging out in his shed. He was our go-to guy for advice and there was nothing he couldn’t fix. We will miss his infectious and boisterous laugh, which made us all laugh with him.

Survived by his wife, Juanita Richard, Price; children, Heather (Jamie) Steinfeld, Logan, UT, Melissa Richard, South Jordan, UT, Tom Reoch, Nashville, IN;  grandchildren, Madison Steinfeld, Dustin (Karah) Reoch, Emily (Nick) Adams, Chloe Reoch, Cameron Reoch; one great-granddaughter, Amara Ann Adams; brother, Bill (Sharon) Richard, Donald, OR; brother-in-law, Rev. Donald Proctor, Bountiful, UT; sister-in-law, Barbara Chapman, Price, UT; Toby his four-legged buddy; many nieces, nephews and many great friends.

Preceded in death by his parents, Edgar and Ruth Richard; sister, Marge Proctor; in-laws, Baldy and Hortense Chapman; brother-in-law, Jim Chapman.

Private Graveside services were held in the Price City Cemetery per Tom’s request. When it’s okay to get together again, a celebration of life will be held at a later date.  Arrangements entrusted to Mitchell Funeral Home where friends are welcome to share memories online at www.mitchellfuneralhome.net.
