Wanting to get out of the cold, windy spring weather the Lady Dino softball team made quick work of the Richfield Wildcats in Price on Tuesday,  25-2 in three innings.  The Dinos moved their season record to 7-1 and pushed their region record to 3-0.

Carbon has now won three of their last four games with the only loss coming by just one run to a still undefeated Manti team.

Carbon racked up 18 hits and did their damage in just two innings scoring 15 runs in the first and 10 in the second. Defensively they only gave up two runs on seven hits  and just one of those hits went for extra bases, a double in the top of the third.

The Dinos scored first on a Lyndsey Madrigal double that brought in Graycie Hansen. The next batter up Gianna Bruno would add three runs with a single swing of the bat bringing home Molly Horsley and Madrigal with a home run shot to left.  The next three batters that came to the plate were walks loading the bases. Stevie Oman was hit by a pitch scoring Haven Bryerly.  Six singles, two batters hit by a pitch and a walk later the Dinos owned a 15-0 lead.

In the second inning Brooke Moosman brought home Bruno on a single to center to start another batch of runs courtesy of singles and walks. Byerly would cap off the inning with a three run shot to left bringing home Paisley Houskeeper and Heaven Vigil, capping the score at 25-0 going to the top of the third. They would give up just two runs to Richfield, invoking the mercy rule and taking the victory.

The Dinos were led in the game by Haven Bryerly with four RBIs on two hits, she also tallied four runs, Graycie Hansen had four RBIs on three hits and scored three runs. Seven other Dinos had multiple RBIs in this great team win.

Brooke Moosman got the start for Carbon going two innings allowing four hits and striking out two. Tenley Madsen would go one giving up two earned runs on three hits while striking out two.

Carbon will be on the road for their next two games. Wednesday they will be in Grantsville for a non-conference tilt with the Cowboys. And on Friday they will be in Castle Dale for a region contest to take on the 7-2-1 Spartans . Emery is coming off a 17-5 win over San Juan on Tuesday. Time for the game on Friday is set for 3:30.

The Dinos will back home for their first game after spring break when they will face The Grand County Red Devils on April 6.
