Emery & Carbon Animal Health will be offering during the month of April 20 percent off spay and neuter procedures. Castle Country Radio was able to speak over the telephone with Dr. Glen L. Jensen DVM to talk about this special.

There are many advantages of having your pets spayed or neutered. “One of the biggest things really is basically population control. Nobody wants to have unwanted animals. There are some health advantages but it is also interesting to know that as science continues to progress, we start to learn different things. So meaning that if you are thinking about having your pets spayed or neutered come talk to us, or talk to us on the phone on best age, pros and cons about spay or neuter and we can get you information on that,” stated Dr. Jensen. Spaying and neutering increases your pet’s chances for a longer, healthier life.

If you are considering having your pet spayed or neutered you will know that it is important for Emery & Carbon Animal Health that the procedure is as painless as possible for your animal.  “Every pet receives local anesthetic, so obviously they are under general anesthesia so there’s no pain at the time, but when they wake up, we want them to be stress free. We don’t want them to wake up and all of a sudden that pain hits me, and you have this dog yelling or something. We want to make sure that it’s quiet and that they are completely pain free and every animal receives a local anesthetic,” explained Dr. Jensen. Emery & Carbon Animal Health conduct their spay and neuter procedures firs thing in the morning. They then will observe your pet for the afternoon before you are able to pick them up to go home.

Emery & Carbon Animal Health will be offering packages for spay and neuter services. “All of our packages though will be 20 percent off in April and so that will really be helpful. The cost does vary a little bit depending on whether it’s a cat or a dog and also the size of the dog. But our basic packages are very affordable. Where on a cat they will start a neuter quite a bit less around $60.00 – $70.00. For a larger dog sometimes, it can be on a spay somewhere around $150.00 – $160.00, and so that is our basic packages,” stated Dr. Jensen.
