The Lady Dinos faced off with the North Sanpete Hawks on Wednesday in Price to wrap up the regular season. In a defensive battle the Dinos came out on top 4-0 and ended the regular season with a record of 15-3.
Brooke Moosman was locked in as she got the complete game shutout win. Moosman allowed just six hits in the contest and the stingy Dino defense behind her did not allow any of those hits to go for extra bases.
Carbon did their damage on offense in just one inning. A Haven Byerly single to center allowed Molly Horsley to cross the plate getting the Dinos on the board in the fourth. The next batter up Amya Prettyman sent one over the left field fence driving home Horsley and Gianna Bruno.
Prettyman collected three RBIs in the contest on one hit and scored one run. Horsley, Bruno, Byerly, Lyndsey Madrigal and Graycie Hansen registered five hits in the victory.
Carbon will now have to play the waiting game until next Wednesday May 5 when the Utah High School Activities Association will release the final RPI and bracket for the 3A State Championship Tournament.
The opening round of the State Playoffs is set to begin on May 8.
