The Dino baseball team headed back on the field on Thursday to face the Grand County Red Devils with a chance to clinch a region title on Senior Day at their home field in Price. Not only were they able to take the win they did it in five innings, 10-0.

Carbon put up nine runs in the first three innings. Jordan Fossat got things going in the first with a two run double to left field. The very next batter Kade Dimick, sent a triple to right field scoring Fossat. Brayton Nielsen would hit a single to center adding one run in the second and Cooper Schade would cross the plate in the third on a passed ball to push the lead to 9-0. The Dinos added one more run in the bottom of the fifth putting the score at 10-0 and ending the game in five innings.

Fossat went 2-of-3 with three runs and three RBIs. Jacob Vasquez was 2-of-4, scoring a run. Six other Dinos registered a hit in the shut out win.

On the mound Kade Dimick pitched a gem, getting the complete game win, giving up just two hits and no runs while striking out eight. This brings his season ERA to 0.51 and puts him in the top five in the state including all classifications.

The Dinos sit at 15-7 overall and 8-1 in Region 12 play. The RPI is now locked until May 5, when the final rankings and the bracket for the State Championships will come out.
The first round will begin on Saturday May 8.

The game on Thursday marked the last home game of the season for Carbon. The Dinos will face the Red Devils again on Friday this time in Moab for the final region contest of the season. Monday they will be on the road to wrap up the regular season in Spanish Fork to take on American Leadership Academy.
