Teams from around Region 12 traveled to the Mountain View Golf Course in West Jordan on Monday for the conference championship. Richfield who has been dominant all season took the top spot turning in a score of 344. Emery finished in second with 437. Grand and South Sevier rounded out the field.

Richfield’s Piper Harris shot a 77 to claim the top spot for the day, her team mate Becca Poulsen finished right behind her with an 85 and Isabel Young of San Juan shot an 89 to round out the top three.

Macie Nielson was the top golfer for Emery turning in a 107, Angie Nielson was one stroke off of her pace at 108 and Kimberlyn Gilbert finished with a 109.

Savanna Rasmussen the lone golfer for Carbon carded a 103.

Emery qualified for state in the team category and had two golfers finish in the top 12. Macie Nielson took the eighth spot and Angie Nielson ended in eleventh in Region 12. Carbon’s Rasmussen claimed the twelve spot and earned an invite as well.

The 3A State Championship Tournament will be held next Wednesday and Thursday May 12 & 13 at Mountain View once again.
