Claudette Jones Schade, age 78, passed away peacefully May 24, 2021 at home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born April 9, 1943 in Price, Utah to Claude and Wanda Simmons Jones. Claudette married her childhood sweetheart, Dick Schade, on June 9, 1966 in Reno, Nevada. After living in California for two years, they returned home to Utah where Dick went to work for the UMWA and Mom stayed home to devote her life to raising her three children. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Over the years she moved from affectionately being called “Me-Own” to “Me-Me.”
Some of the things that Mom enjoyed were having a beautiful yard and planting the right flower in just the right spot and caring for her chickens. She will be remembered for her home-cooked meals, especially her delicious homemade noodles and bread at Christmas family dinners. She also loved listening to old country music. Mom loved to decorate, redecorate, and decorate again. This included curtains, paint and wallpaper. She also spent much of her time arranging, rearranging, and then arranging the furniture again.
She was known for spending ample amounts of time picking just the right card for a loved one’s special event and sharing it with the entire family before giving it to that special someone. Mom will be dearly missed and will be remembered often, especially when the prettiest pink flowers are in bloom.
Claudette is survived by her children, two daughters and two sons, Andrea (Greg) Kuiken, Hope (Rick) Manzanares, Richard (Kristina) Schade and Bobby (Deena) Schade; grandchildren, Jessica and Grant Kuiken, Dusty (Felicia), Dillon (Jaycey) Manzanares, Calie (Garrett) Blanc, Cooper Schade, Vanessa and Levi Schade; three special great-grandchildren, Emberlee and Axton Manzanares and Jet Blanc; siblings, Judy Bergan and Darwin (Karla) Jones; sisters-in-law, Sandra (Brent) Jewkes, Lynda (Jeff) Smith; brothers-in-law, Tom (Dorthy) Schade, and Ringo (Judi) Schade; and dear friend, Wayne Olsen.
Claudette was preceded in death by her husband, Dick Schade; parents, Claude and Wanda Jones; siblings, Grace McCourt and Buddy Jones; and numerous brothers and sisters-in-law and extended family.
Funeral service, Friday, May 28, 2021, 11:00 a.m., Mitchell Funeral Home (233 East Main Street) where the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
