The upcoming International Days celebration is coming up on July 29 through July 31 and part of the celebration is free swim day on Thursday and Friday. Aquatics Director, Tamara Gray took time to talk about free swim and vendors in the park during the celebration.

“We still have our swim lessons; we have a couple more summer sessions going on. We will have birthday parties available. You know families are getting back together so we can accommodate your family reunion if you want to book us for private rental for your group. We also have our International Days free swim coming up, we’re going to talk a little bit about International Days,” stated Gray. The Thursday free swim is being sponsored by Pinnacle HVAC and Friday is being sponsored by the Boys & Girls Club. There will be music, contests and activities taking place during the free swim event.

A big part of International Days is the vendors in the park where there will be several vendors set up on Friday and Saturday inside Washington Park. “Right now, for the vendors, we have about eight food vendors, Navajo Tacos, Texas Twisters, chocolate-covered bananas which I would probably have to say that is my favorite. Aside from the food vendors there’s also right now and we’re still getting more in, 21 miscellaneous vendors that will be there so you can come check out see what they have to offer,” said Gray. The stage where the entertainment will take place will be moved a bit this year to allow for social distancing for guests and performers. Guests are still urged to bring their lawn chairs however there will be seating available on the bleachers.
