After being home for one game, the Lady Spartans were back on the road again in Monticello to face the San Juan Broncos on Thursday.  Emery was able to seemingly score at will and all the while holding off the Broncos on defense to get the 7-1 victory.

San Juan is a team that the Spartans are familiar with after being in the same region the last two years. This season the Broncos have dropped to the 2A classification in all sports.

The Spartans jumped out in the first half taking a 4-0 lead into the locker room. They came back out in the second half scoring three more and allowing San Juan’s only goal.

Opening the season on the road in Salem Hills playing three games in two days, the Spartans followed that by going back on the road for three more, earning their first win against Gunnison Valley. They have had highs and lows this season and currently sit at 2-5.

Up next for the Spartans will be a home contest when they welcome the Union Cougars on Tuesday. They will wrap up the non-region portion of the schedule on the road at Maeser Prep and then will welcome Canyon View on August 31 to open conference play.
