Juan Medina, age 88, passed away September 5, 2021 of pneumonia at Castleview Hospital. He was born May 27, 1933 in Aguascalientes, Mexico to Gregorio and Guadalupe Rivera Medina.

Juan met Junia Maestaz in the summer of 1953 while picking cherries in Utah Valley. Juan and Junia were married September 11, 1954. The Medinas moved to Salt Lake City, Utah in the 1960 and provided the true American dream for their children. Juan started and ran a successful window cleaning business in Salt Lake City for many years.

Juan was a selfless, loving, and hardworking man. Juan and Junia were happily married for almost 50 years before Junia passed on February 4, 2004.

Juan then met Helen Zavala in May of 2004. They spent 17 years together, providing love and support for each other. She was by his side every day.

He is survived by Helen Zavala, of Price; brothers, Antonio Medina (Maria, deceased), Pancho Medina (Sophia); six children, Tom (Leticia), Veronica, Alfred, John (Sophia), Michele, and Denise; grandchildren, Tory, Karly (Ethan), Alexandria (Apelu), Juan Antonio and Tristan, Raquel (Barnett), Leticia (Jeff), Alicia (Anthony), Jessica (Jenny). They will all miss him greatly.

Preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife, Junia; and son, Gregory Tomas Medina.

Funeral service, Friday, September 10, 2021, 11:00 a.m., Mitchell Funeral Home, 233 East Main Street in Price, where the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
