The Carbon FFA organization is hosting an event called Horse Games on Saturday, October 2 at 9:00 am at the Carbon County Fairgrounds. Everyone is invited to attend this event either to participate or be a spectator.  Castle Country Radio caught up with a few members of the Carbon FFA program to discuss all the details about the event.

There will be many youth events and 16+ events taking place during the Horse Games. “We have like barrels for little kids and adults, poles, long barrels, team roping for the older kids, all the way up to your older ages. We’re bringing ZD Cattle in which are professional steers, so if you want to get training on your horse or team rope, we’ll do that. Then will do a barrel pot and a team roping pot, where everybody will throw in and then will do a couple of events,” said FFA Member, Jack Banasky. There will also be a chicken chase, potato race, costume race, and mutton busting taking place as well.

Carbon FFA Organization prepares its members for leadership and careers in the science, business and technology of agriculture. “The Carbon FFA chapter is dedicated to hard work and leadership. We are constantly growing as a team and as individuals as well. If I could talk to every freshman going into high school, I would strongly advise them to try out for the FFA team. It’s full of fun, hard work, and friends who turn into a family,” stated FFA Secretary, Samantha Jensen. Those individuals that would like more information about the FFA Program can contact any current FFA member to learn more details.

There is an entry fee associated with the Horse Games as FFA Member, Macey Fivecoat explains, “So at 8:30 am on that day October 2, you will come and pay your fees. Which registration per event is $5.00, we do have some family packs. So for five events your will pay $20.00 and for 15 events you’ll pay $45.00, then its $3.00 for every extra event you decide to do and it’s going to be at the Carbon County Fairgrounds on October 2.” All the proceeds earned from the event will benefit the Carbon FFA Program. There will be ribbons, plaques and buckles awarded to the top contestants in each event.
