The Lady Spartan soccer club welcomed the Grand County Red Devils to Castle Dale on Tuesday. Emery has had their struggles this season but in the match with the Red Devils they seemed like a new team taking the 5-1 win.

The Spartans were sitting on a seven game losing streak and getting close to the end of the season both of the final contests could make a difference when State Tournament time rolls around.

Emery had Grand on the ropes the whole game putting all five goals on the board in the first half. They came out and were on the attack and didn’t let the Red Devils up for air, allowing the only Grand County goal late in the end of the second half.

The Spartans have two games left on the schedule, and are 3-13 on the season, they also occupy the No. 20 in the RPI. They will have the remainder of this week off before heading back to the field.

Tuesday they will face the Richfield Wildcats. The Wildcats are 8-6 so far this season and are sitting in the No. 9 spot in the RPI. Back on the 7th of September the two teams faced off in Richfield, with the Wildcats taking the game 3-0.

The Spartans will end the season on the road against Carbon. Back on September 14th, the Dinos claimed the 2-1 victory in Castle Dale.

The game with Richfield on Tuesday the 28th will start at 4 p.m..
