The Lady Dinos are in the home stretch of the regular season with just two games left. Last weekend they traveled to Richfield for a tournament at the Sevier Valley Center. Facing teams from the 1A to 4A classes, the Dinos went 3-2 over the two days.

In their first match of the tournament Carbon faced the North Sevier Wolves from Salina playing in the 2A class. The Wolves sit in the No.11 spot and have an 11-15 record. Carbon finished off North Sevier in two straight sets 25-10 and 25-19.

Match number two was a meeting with the South Summit Wildcats No. 5 in the 3A RPI. Carbon would get pushed to the limit in this one taking the first set 26-24 and coming back and taking set number two 25-16.

Crimson Cliffs is a 4A school out of Washington, holding the No. 3 spot. Carbon would come out looking to end the first day with another win however, Crimson Cliffs handed the Dinos their first loss of the tournament in straight sets 25-17 and 25-15.

On Saturday, the Dinos faced the Panguitch Bobcats. The Bobcats are the No. 2 team in the RPI for 1A. The Bobcats would push Carbon to five sets with the Dinos taking a 3-2 win.  Carbon came out taking set one 25-15 and set two 25-13. The Bobcats came back in set three taking the 25-22 win and then claiming set four 25-19. Carbon took the fifth and deciding set 15-3.

In the final match of the weekend Carbon would meet up with the Crimson Cliffs Mustangs and once again the Mustangs would handle the Dinos in straight sets 25-18, 25-20 and 25-12.

The Dinos fell to 20-4 after the weekend and sit at to No. 2 in the RPI with just two games left in the regular season.

Carbon will be on the road on Tuesday in Richfield. September 14 in Price the Dinos took care of business in straight sets.

They will then be home next Tuesday when the welcome the Emery Spartans on what will be Senior Night.
