The Carbon County Family Support Center and Children’s Justice Center, along with RUCD Head Start are both excited to bring to the community a Trunk or Treat and Spook Alley event on Friday, October 29 at 3:00 pm. Director, Shelley Wright was able to stop by Castle Country Radio to discuss all the spooky details.
“We’re going to run it from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm. So, we are asking parents to please park in the Active Re-Entry parking lot. There will be a gravel pathway that leads you to the centers parking lot. If you children are interested, we have a spook alley for them or a haunted house for them to go through and explore. We promise that nothing will reach out and grab them or hurt them, it’s just all in fun. Then they can trick or treat all the cars that are by and just kind of mill around in the parking lot and enjoy the night,” stated Wright. This event is open to all ages of children, it will be a safe, fun environment for the entire family.
Anyone interested in donating candy towards the cause can do so by dropping off bags of candy at the Family Support Center and Children’s Justice Center at 80 South Fairgrounds Way. “If anybody is interested in bringing their car out and joining in on the Trunk or Treat and decorating your car, please do so, we have spots available,” said Wright. Those that will be in attendance at the event will be employees of Family Support Center and Children’s Justice Center, as well as from RUCD Head Start, plus students from USU-Eastern.
The Family Support Center and Children’s Justice Center is currently hosting a Coat Drive to help children in the community. “Right now, we are collecting coats for teens and older elementary kids. Please when we say gently used that means no holes, no tears, no big stains. If its something that just needs to be washed and refreshed that’s not a problem but we’re trying to give nice warm coats out to our kiddos in the community,” explained Wright. Folks that would like to donate gently used coats can do so by dropping them off at the Family Support Center and Children’s Justice Center.
