Resident of West Valley City, Utah, Claude “Pudley” Alden, passed away November 8, 2021 in Price, Utah while visiting his family home. He was born August 9, 1942 in Waukegan, Illinois to Claude Raymond and Mildred Rosalie Villard Cowley.

Pudley was proud of his Carbon County upbringing and graduated from Carbon High School in 1960. After high school, Pudley was drafted into the United States Army and served for two years while being stationed in Fairbanks, Alaska. After the Army, Pudley went on to receive his bachelor’s degree from the University of Utah while later marrying Kayla Kramer in 1977; they later divorced.

Pudley was a loyal Crimson Club donor and lifelong University of Utah supporter. He has not missed a single University of Utah home football game since 1971. He was a season ticket holder for Utes football, basketball and Red Rocks Gymnastics for many, many years and loved and followed anything Ute sports related. However, it wasn’t just the Utes; he also loved Notre Dame, the Chicago Bears, and the Denver Broncos. He could quote just about any statistic, remember players, specific plays, and quotes from many years back. You could also find Pudley at the Stansbury Park Golf Course just about every Thursday or weekend, with his lifelong best friend Bob Fratto, his brother Steve and his nephew Trevor.

Pudley is survived by his brothers, Terry (Kathy) Cowley, Michael Cowley, Steve (Robin) Cowley, Jon (Dawn) Cowley and Randy (Wendy) Cowley; and many nieces and nephews and several great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Mildred Cowley; nephews, Christopher Cowley, Dustin Fisher; and loving family members and friends.
