The Emery Spartans lived up to the pre-season hype with a dominate showing in the wrestling season opener against the Manti Templars, cruising to a 72-12 win at the Spartan Center in Castle Dale Wednesday evening.

The Spartans made quick work of the Templars, winning all but one match on the varsity level by pinfall. The victory sent Emery into the Thanksgiving break on a high note before the grueling pace of the regular season schedule.

Emery will next return to the mat on Wednesday, Dec. 1 at home against the Carbon Dinos. The weekend will take the team to Millard, where each wrestler will participate in the Ironman duels on both Friday and Saturday.
