Although we’re in the midst of the holiday season it’s also time to start thinking about Spring Semester at USU Eastern. Castle Country Radio was able to sit down with Director of Students, Kevin Hurst to discuss all the details.

“So if they need to apply I would direct them to our website and click, there’s a big radio button on our website that says apply now. So I would encourage them to apply, if they’re a returning student they’re probably on a, what we call it a leave of absence, so they just need to reactivate their account and they’re first call should be our One Stop and our admission’s specialist team can help them reactivate their account and get back into classes,” said Hurst. The One Stop Student Services is the office where new and returning students should visit when they decide to start school at USU Eastern.

“After you’re admitted and so you’ve gone through the application process, the next step is to register for classes. Once you register for classes, you’ll have a tuition and fee balance due and you can work on paying your balance. That’s where financial aid and scholarships come in to help pay for college,” stated Hurst. The financial aid department will walk you through the process to see if you are eligible for any financial aid, grants and scholarships.

There are still some scholarships available for students who may qualify. “The cool thing about our scholarship process is it’s one application and so you apply once for our scholarships and we’ll way your application against all the dollars available and award what you’re eligible for,” stated Hurst. There are academic, departmental and private scholarships available for eligible students.

There are so many educational options available at an affordable cost at USU Eastern. “You can get a certificate, an associate, a bachelors, a masters, we offer PhDs on our campus. No sense going anywhere else, if you’re looking for a credential or a skill set, we have what you need,” stated Hurst. Classes for Spring Semester are set to begin on January 10.
