The Carbon Dinos haven’t played a contest since Dec. 20 when they dropped a heart breaker to Juab, 68-60 in overtime. That loss would bring an end to a disappointing 2021 calendar year but bring the opportunity to put a five game losing streak behind them and bring a chance at redemption on Friday night when they faced American Leadership Academy (ALA)  in Spanish Fork. The Dinos had three players score in double digits as the Dinos earned the 75-68 win.

American Leadership is No.17 at 5-8 playing in Region 15 with teams like Judge Memorial, Real Salt Lake Academy and Providence Hall.

The first quarter was played pretty tight with Carbon only carrying a one point lead in to quarter two. If you could pick where the Dinos made their move it would be in the second when they outscored American Leadership by six and took a 35-28 lead to the locker room.

In half two, Carbon kept pace playing even, out scoring ALA 18-17 in the third, and turning around in the fourth, Carbon was outscored 23-22.

Two Dinos were responsible for 47 point as Jackson Griffeth scored 24 and Chet Anderson added 23. Braxton Stevenson dropped in 13 for Carbon in the win.

The Dinos sit in the No.15 spot in the UHSAA RPI rankings and hold a 4-7 record overall and have yet to step into Region 12 play, and that will change on Wednesday when they travel to take on the Grand County Red Devils.

The Dinos will be back on their home floor on Friday when they will take on Canyon View. Game time is set for 7 p.m..

You can tune in to KRPX 95.3 The Peak on Wednesday. The Landon’s Diesel Service Pre-game will start at 6:30 and tip-off will follow at 7. You will also be able to stream the action at castlecountryradio.com
